The planning conditions required for commencing work on the Chippings site have recently been cleared and signed off by Kirklees Planners on 8th September 2026. This approval opens up the way to starting work on the site near Scholes. Connect Housing’s submissions for Council approval of these 13 pre-commencement conditions were first submitted by the Connect team over a year ago. The planning delays have meant that the build of the 10No new affordable low-energy homes is unlikely to start construction until 2027.
